Meet Dr Marcela Martin

Dr Marcela Martin is a fertility specialist, providing conception advice, gynaecology, and IVF to patients.

Dr Martin grew up in Wollongong NSW. She obtained her medical degree at Sydney University and trained in various hospitals in NSW including St George, Sutherland and the Royal Hospital for Women. She underwent further training in reproductive medicine whilst completing her specialist training. As well as being a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, she has also obtained an Honours degree in Genetics and a Masters of Reproductive Medicine from the University of NSW.

In the event fertility is an issue, Dr Martin will guide you through the options that may be available to you. This doesn’t always mean IVF but she is part of the IVFAustralia group and she performs IVF procedures for her own patients. She works with a comprehensive team of scientists, embryologists and nurses that can help you achieve the pregnancy you so desire.

Dr Martin is equipped to keep up to date with the latest ‘evidence-based’ medical research that shapes modern obstetric, gynaecological and infertility care. She will take the time to explain the reasons behind her decisions and be sure that you are fully informed about the risks, benefits, and likely outcomes associated with such advice.

Dr Martin lectures in reproductive medicine at UNSW and is a founding member of DART (an association affiliated with The Fertility Society of Australia and NewZealand dedicated to the education of doctors working in the field of IVF).
